Special Olympics Romania Foundation organized, on April 29th, a sports event within the “Motor abilities development project for Down Syndrome individuals – essential step towards an independent life” project, financed through the SEE 2009 – 2014 grants, under the ONG Romanian Fund. The Unified Gymnastics Sports Competion was held in sports hall of ”I.G.Duca” Secondary School from Petrosani . The competition brought together 108 athletes, with and without intellectual disabilities, from Valea Jiului: Centrul Școlar pentru Educație Incluzivă „Rudolf Steiner” Hunedoara, Centrul Școlar de Educație Incluzivă „Rudolf Steiner” Lupeni, Centrul de Pedagogie Curativă Simeria, Asociația de Voluntariat ”Pollicino” House Petroșani,”Down Valea Jiului” Association si de la ”I.G.Duca”Secondary School, Liceul Teoretic „Mircea Eliade”-Lupeni, Secondary School No.3-Lupeni, CSS Petrosani. The event had the support of CAR SALARIAȚI PETROȘANI IFN.
