Special Olympics Romania Foundation organized on January 12th a sports event within the “Motor abilities development project for Down Syndrome individuals – essential step towards an independent life” project, financed through the SEE 2009¬2014 grants, under the ONG Romanian Fund. The Unified Gymnastics Sports Competition was held in a sports hall of the Faculty of Sports and Mountain Sports in Brasov. The competition brought together 91 athletes, with and without intellectual disabilities, from Asociația Copiii de Cristal, Centrul Școlar pentru Educație Incluzivă Victoria, DGASPC Brașov, Colegiul Național Unirea, Școala Profesională Specială Codlea, CSR Cristian – Casa Soarelui . They have the support of 25 teachers and 27 volunteers.
